Bug #58: Icons of the Windows task bar appear in fullscreen
Product:
TV3D SDK 6.2
Language:
Visual Basic 6
Current State:
New
Resolution:
Unconfirmed
Created On:
May 6th, 2004
Last Modified:

Reported By:

When opening a screen using Init3DFullscreen (800x600x32 for example), some icons of the windows task bar quickly appear each time they are updated by the corresponding application.

Example : Norton Internet Security firewall displays a blinking red "!" in the system tray when an intrusion was detected. This blinking icon appears regularly on the TV3D screen.

In fact, all the applications updating the caption of their corresponding button in the task bar also appear quickly (like download accelerators displaying the percentage of data remaining to download).

Only happens when using :
If TV3D.ShowDriverDialog = False Then Exit Sub
TV3D.Initialize
and unchecking the "windowed" item in the dialog.
(there is no form in the VB project).

If I use something like instead :
frmMain.Show
TV3D.Init3DFullscreen 1024, 768, 32, True, False, TV_DEPTHBUFFER_BESTBUFFER, , frmMain.hWnd

It works fine.

So the bug only happens if I use the DriverDialog, pick Fullscreen and don't use any form to initialize the display. This is the case in many tutorials/samples of the SDK, though ;)

hmm must be a problem with the form order :) will try to fix.
